Abstrakt: The article presents the author's insights on the ethical aspect of continued refusal to the standard recommended childhood immunizations. He cites a study of measles outbreak in San Diego, California which reveals a 10,000 dollar cost per nonimmunized patient in association to the refusal problem. He adds that the refusals come from well-educated and well-informed persons and is not based on religious faith. He also discusses issues on the Belmont Report, autonomy, and beneficence.
