The article discusses educational policy in Vietnam for ethnic minorities in the context of national unity and ethnic identity. The discussion focuses on a bachelor of arts (BA) program in ethnic minority cultures (EMC) at the Hanoi University of Culture which was developed for ethnic minority students but is also open to the Kinh majority students. Topics include curricula in the BA program, self-perceptions of minority students concerning their educational experience, institutional and government policies on educating minority students, and the views of Hanoi University's faculty. |
