The article discusses price volatility in the global copper market through 2010. The deficit recorded by the copper market from January to July 2010 according to the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS) is described. According to Copper and Brass Fabricators Council spokesperson Jeffery Burghardt, the increase in the price of copper has been accompanied by an improvement in material quality. British business consulting firm CRU expects increased refined copper consumption worldwide due to factors such as China's domination of world copper demand. |
