Abstrakt: The article focuses on the consequences of the decomposition of the Soviet Union on its science and culture. It mentions that Soviet science, that was the largest in the world, has been divided into 15 fragments and reflects upon cultural diversity in Soviet science. It discusses the influence of the country's politics on its scientists and reflects on the future of the country's science and on the probability of its integration into world science.
