The electron drag force on a moving dislocation in a magnetic field H introduces a sharp maximum in the drag stress when H is parallel to the dislocation line (tilt-effect). The width of this maximum is proportional to the radius of the effective electron-dislocation interaction which, in linear theory, is of the order of the Burgers vector b. However, by using a nonlinear approach to this interaction we show that this width is much larger than in the linear case, and is given by the parameter (b/R)[sup 1/3], where R is the cyclotron radius. The estimate for the width of the tilt-effect, obtained from the nonlinear approach, is in good agreement with the experimental results, unlike the width obtained from linear theory.
