Script after print: Juan de Yciar and the art of writing.

Abstrakt: The article focuses on Juan de Yciar's originally titled "Orthographia practica,", which is the first calligraphy manual published in Spain in 1548, and its importance to the history of script after print context. It mentions that the study of Yciar's manual illuminates the transition of meaning within a single medium and the new meanings ultimate implications. It says that Yciar's instructional article introduces method for writing chancery hand whose presentation on the practice of writing proves to be of great interest which expresses distinctive significance to script as a medium of nobility and spiritual virtue. Furthermore, Yciar's printed calligraphy manual preserved and changed the meaning of script stating that old form could be invested with new meanings.
