The article discusses a study which evaluated the predictors of pregnancy within two years of a teenager giving birth for the first time, and a return to sexual intercourse after the birth. Health care providers have two options for reducing the rate of rapid-repeat pregnancy (RRP), including facilitating teenage mothers' access to long-acting contraceptives and gaining a clear understanding of their intention regarding repeat pregnancy. The study also found a significant association between sexual intercourse and using an oral contraceptive. |
