An essay is presented describing the history and accomplishments of the Theatre Historiography Working Group of the International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR/FIRT). Details are given outlining the formation of the group in 1992, outlining its professional goals to promote scholarship on the history of theater. Accomplishments by the group in its two decades then are outlined, including service as a transnational community for inquiry, and the promoting of revisionist theater history. |
