The article reports on the elimination of the top leadership of the outlawed Aprista party in Peru by the government of General Manuel Odria. The non-Stalinist group was founded by Victor Raul Haya de la Torre, who sought refuge in the Colombian embassy in January 1949. The military court convicted Senator Cirilo Cornejo and Deputy Luis Felipe de las Casas, while the other top leader Luis Negreiros was killed by police in Lima. |
