Presents a study to determine the effectiveness of glutamate antagonists derived from the quinoxalinedione scaffold, with the introduction of a phosphonate group, as a neuroprotective treatment for stroke and head and spinal cord trauma. Methods; Results; Conclusion that phosphonate quinoxalinedione derivatives ZK202000 and ZK200775 protected rodent brain against sequelae of premanent occlusion of the middle cerebral artery and head trauma. |
