Provides evidence that growth arrest-specific gene 1 (GAS1), the protein encoded by the growth arrest-specific gene 1 (Gas1), can mediate the antagonistic effect of WNT proteins on sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling in the developing somite. Dependence of the binding of GAS1 by SHH-N on the N-glycosylation of GAS1; Reduction of the availability of active SHH within the dorsal somite. |
