Abstrakt: The article reports on the lawsuit against caretaker Paula Baniszewski for murdering Sylvia Marie Likens in Indiana. It found that Baniszewski has tortured Liken, forbidding her to eat at one point, and ordering her to sleep in the basement on a file of filthy rags, along with the family's two dogs. It found that Likens' body bore an estimated 150 burns, cuts, bruises and other lesions. However, the grand jury pleaded Baniszewski not guilty by reason of insanity.
