| Abstrakt: |
The article presents a commentary on an article in this issue of the journal which proposed a new approach to lactate accumulation based on precellular, cellular and postcellular mechanisms. It notes that hyperlactatemia has been conceptualized by the authors in a logical way without depending on the lactic acidosis notion. It points out that this review helps address gaps in the understanding of serum lactate and has implications for future research efforts. Included is a list of areas of lactate research that needs further development. |
