Abstrakt: The article discusses a phenomics-based genetic association study (PGAS) which determined the genetic causes of schizophrenia. It examines the complexin 2 gene (CPLX2) polymorphism to determine the effect of gene expression and function within the schizophrenic population. It cites the schizophrenia patient database that was developed by the Göttingen Research Association for Schizophrenia (GRAS). It explains that schizophrenia is a collective term for a heterogeneous group of mental ailments.
