Abstrakt: | Chapter Six of the book "Beautiful Death: Jewish Poetry and Martyrdom in Medieval France," by Susan L. Einbinder, is presented. It explores a narrative about a Jew named Jonathan who was not afraid to be burnt by the Christians because of his little book. It analyzes the implications of the story on the fearlessness of Jews on fire as well as on various poetic and literary patterns. It also provides excerpts of several Jewish poems pertaining the narrative. |
