Abstrakt: Intraoperative ultrasound is increasingly employed in hospitals throughout the country. Involvement with this activity can result in a significant demand on the resources of an ultrasound section and can be a problem for sonographers, who must now work in the unfamiliar environment of the surgical suite. The purpose of this article is to provide sonographers with some general guidelines and suggestions about how to conduct an intraoperative examination and to discuss how ultrasound instrumentation can be operated with ease and comfort within the restricted setting of the operating room.
