One area in which considerable work must yet be done in the field of digital simulation is the efficient handling of implicit functions or algebraic loops. The "digital type" can't simply stick in a capacitor to quiet the durned thing down; instead he must resort to iteration and some scheme for determin ing when the result is sufficiently accurate. The following two notes are presented to show two methods presently used and to encourage further correspondence on this topic of technical interest. (For background information on MIDAS see SIMULATION for September and October 1964, and Octo ber 1965.) [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER] |
