Abstrakt: Many teachers must confront-and help overcome-the problem of the child who has difficulty communicating in his own language. This perennial challenge is rendered more difficult in the context of the international school-away from the child's native surroundings and culture and yet likely to impose on him a higher standard of academic performance. We describe some of the ways in which this disability manifests itself and offer some suggestions for dealing with it. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
