On ajob performance appraisal scale comprising 25 4-choice items in Likertstyle format, factor analyses of intercorrelations of item ratings by one group of supervisors and of intercorrelations of item ratings by a second independent group of supervisors six months later for the same sample of 615 unskilled female textile workers yielded four identifiable matched dimensions of Assertive Commitment, Identification with Significant Others, Sense of Responsibility, and Productivity/Industriousness. Congruence coefficients of .98, .90, .94, and .96, respectively, for these four factor dimensions across two rater groups lent support to the invariance of factorial validity of the scales.
