Abstrakt: In polystyrene boards used as soil insulation there is a deterioration of the thermal conductivity caused by moisture accumulation and changes in the composition of the cell gas (aging). This study presents results from laboratory measurements of thermal conductivity and moisture content of specimens taken from Scandinavian roads. The actual moisture accumulation is compared to calculated and a simple model for prediction of the thermal conductivity under service conditions is devel oped. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
