Abstrakt: The article offers information on the course on modeling of computer-based systems offered at the Computer and Information Science Department in the College of Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Michigan-Dearborn. As explained, models of computer-based information systems can help to examine the consistency of the information system architecture with the group's information processes. The author elaborates that the course work are employing the discrete event systems specification (DEVS) formalism to construct basic models of organizational functions. Also mentioned is the adoption of the DEVSJAVA provided by Dr. B. P. Zeigler's group at the University of Arizona.
