An analog output feedback controller designed to stabilize an unstable third-order system is implemented on an Intel 2920 microcomputer. The unstable plant is simulated on an EAI 680 analog computer and the microcomputer is used as an observer in the feedback loop. The sampling interval depends on the length of the computer program and the speed of the micro processor. The performance of the system controlled by the In tel 2920 microcomputer is compared with the corresponding performance of the analog controlled system. Advantages and limitations of using the Intel 2920 microcomputer as a single chip controller are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER] |
