Aqueous extracts of cotton dust and bract were immunogenic for antibody synthesis in rabbits. In double diffusion the antisera cross-reacted specifically with both of these extracts, as well as with extracts of cotton leaf, cotton stem, Hax, soft hemp, and sisal. No reaction was obtained between the antisera and several commercial preparations of bacterial endotoxins believed to be present in cotton dust.
