The article focuses on rectal bezoars, a medical condition experienced by most children. It highlights the case of an eight-year-old boy with a three-day history of constipation after consuming handfuls of flavoured unshelled sunflower seeds. A radiograph of his abdomen revealed stool extending from the descending colon down to the rectum. In addition, options for patients with symptomatic bezoars include the use of enemas and extractions with conscious sedation or general anesthesia. |
