The article presents brief profiles of four universities and colleges located in California. San Francisco State University has film-editing facilities that attract students from around the world. Among persons who have studied there are actors Annette Bening and Dana Carvey, and film producer Jonas Rivera. Budget cuts have forced a steep rise in student fees since 2007, though, and reduced the availability of classes. Commentary is also provided about the University of California at Berkeley, Stanford University, and Mills College. |
