Abstrakt: The article presents a debate on whether the U.S. should adopt a flat tax. It states that the present tax code is a burden to taxpayers, and that it is possible to correct the tax system, particularly by deleting special deals. According to Jim Burdick, it is possible to implement a flat tax by gradually incorporating it to the system, and reducing income tax. Jim Copenhaver opts for a simplified version of the current progressive tax system. Harvey Clarke says no to the flat tax, and yes to the FairTax, which only taxes what a person spends.
