Examines what types of Streptococcus pneumoniae serogroups are preferentially associated with specific disease manifestations via the analysis of a sample of research literature on pneumococcal disease. Relative frequency of isolation of each serogroup by clinical sites as a proxy for different disease states; Potential prevention by pneumococcal conjugate vaccines of a range of diseases especially in young children. |
