The article focuses on picture books that were written and published in Spanish during 2000-2009. It cites that the growth in the number of published picture books in the country was a result of the 1997 symposium "La Ilustración: Primera Lectura y Educación Artística" (Illustration: First Reading and Art Education). It cites several Spanish picture books, including "Mar de Sábanas" (Sea of Sheets), by Pablo Pérez and "Mi Laberinto" (My Labyrinth), by Emilio Urberuaga. |
