Abstrakt: |
Data are presented on the macrostructure, microstructure, chemical and physical inhomogeneity, and mechanical properties over the length and cross sections ingots modified by a fine mixture of SiO2 + C powder. The mixture reduces the structural and physical inhomogeneity and changes the composition, morphology, and size of the nonmetallic inclusions. The mechanical properties of the modified metal are improved: by 18% for the plasticity and 37–50% for the strength. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
