Abstrakt: A 3-year-old female goat was referred to the veterinary hospital of Tehran University with a history of respiratory problems, emaciation, and poor body condition. At necropsy, the lungs were heavier than normal and showed grayish sulfur granules. The pleura had adhesion to the thoracic wall with fibrous tissue. The heart was partly flaccid and had serous atrophy of fat at the base. In microscopic sections, granulomatose pneumonia with club shape colonies and asteroid bodies were obvious. Tissue gram staining showed gram-negative colonies. Bacterial culture and biochemical tests directed us to Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae as cause of pneumonia in the goat. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
