Abstrakt: The article examines the clinical impact of infection by transmissible strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa on cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. According to the authors, no difference was found between CF patients infected by transmissible strains and those infected by sporadic strains. They conclude that infection by transmissible strains does not increase mortality, but it is a primary factor behind increased health care and antibiotic use among CF patients.
