Abstrakt: The article presents an examination of the roles that white and non-white people in the United States play in mass movements for social justice and in creating a society free of racism. It discusses an event held on the eve of the 2008 presidential election in the U.S., hosted by the Alliance of White Anti-Racists Everywhere--Los Angeles, that was designed to bring an end to white supremacy, and explores the role of white antiracist organizing in the U.S. It examines how the event, titled the Ballot Box and Beyond, addressed the idea of white people playing a role in ending white supremacy alongside people of color.
