Results for topaz-containing raw materials from the Kopna deposits analyzed for chemical and mineralogical composition are reported. Rocks with different concentrations of topaz and topaz concentrates are shown to be promising components for aluminosilicate compositions for fabrication of heat insulators and general-purpose refractories. Topaz is shown to be the component whose use makes it possible to improve the thermomechanical properties of products and facilitate the processes of sintering and phase formation in clay-topaz compositions.
