Abstrakt: | The authors demonstrate the complexities and processes involved in constructing a screening test for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Discussion includes item development, find testing, and preliminary results. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the complexities and processes involved in the construction of a screening test. This process becomes more complicated in an area that is new, such as PTSD, and for which measurement instruments are scarce. Selection of items to be measured is critical to ensure adequate coverage of multiple factors or symptoms contributing to a total measurement of a construct of stress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
