The article looks at the economic condition of China as of April 2010. Analysts see a need to tighten the monetary policy in China with real gross domestic product (GDP) growth figure of 11.9% year on year recorded in the first quarter of 2010. Total fixed asset investment went at 26.4% year on year while resources are being diverted into the property sector. Meanwhile, consumption contributed an increase of 6.2 percentage points (pp) to gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2010. |
