Abstrakt: The article discusses a study on subjective memory impairment (SMI) as a predictor of dementia and a pre-mild cognitive impairment (MCI) condition in the course of the clinical manifestation of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The study aimed to determine the risk for conversion to any dementia, dementia in AD or vascular dementia through SMI. Subjects of the study were individuals without cognitve impairment. The study revealed that SMI is a risk factor for dementia in older people.
