The article presents the author's reflection on the loss of Louisiana wetlands during a fishing trip with her brother. It states that the country offers the most dynamic fishing on the planet and the first in annual harvest of oysters, crabs, and shrimp. It mentions that one reason for the loss is the rapid deterioration of the coastal wetlands due to the prolonged maintenance of the Mississippi river in its present location through artificial leeves. |
