Abstrakt: Chapter 5 of the book "The Wild Canids: Their Systematics, Behavioral Ecology and Evolution" is presented. It discusses the complex and dynamic morphology and ecology of gray wolves or Canis lupus in Ontario, Canada and the role of human intervention in their resulting variations. It examines the physiology and distribution of the subspecies C. I. hudsonicus, the C. I. lycaon (Boreal type), the C. I. lycaon (Algonquin type) and the C. I. lycaon (Tweed type).
