The article focuses on the different means in celebrating birthdays and its history. It is said that the celebration of birthdays is originated in Europe in which it was believed that evil spirits would visit on the day of ones birthday. It is cited that there are several traditions in celebrating birthday including in Germany wherein the birthday celebrant is not allowed to do homework nor given chores, in Denmark the celebrant is surrounded by gifts and in Sweden family member would serenade. |
