A biography of Reverend François Xavier Antoine Labelle, parish priest of St. Jerome, Terrebonne, Quebec, is presented. He was born on November 14, 1834 in Ste. Rose, Laval, Quebec, and completed classical studies in the Seminary of Ste. Thérèse. Choosing the ecclesiastical state, he studied theology in the Grand Seminary of Montreal and was ordained priest at twenty-two years old. He served as parish priest of Sault-au-Récollet, St. Jacques-le-Mineur, St. Antoine Abbé, and finally St. Jerome. |
