Abstrakt: Comparative analysis of the presented IR-spectrums has shown a presence of some quantity of pectins, hemicelluloses, and lignin in the fibers obtained by various methods of stem processing of studied long-fibered flax cultivars. This fact can be because they are not only a part of intercellular layers but also located in fiber walls. The obtained data have revealed bands of valence fluctuations, characteristic for flax, and have shown a reliability of FT-IR method for estimation of the degree of flax fiber fineness. The advantage of this approach in comparison with others' consists of the ability to provide in situ fiber structural organization investigation by nondestroying procedure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
