Abstrakt: The article discusses guidelines to follow when providing insurance for horses that are bred at home. Owners of homebred horses need to determine the market value of their horse before providing horse mortality insurance. Insurers require owners to present paperwork for their horse which includes receipt for stud fees, breed registration, and veterinarian's certificate. Insurance plans for homebred horses need to be reviewed annually to prevent any over- or underpayment of premiums, and determine changes in market value and risk.
