The article presents a summary of Scottish Intercollegiate Guideline Network (SIGN) guidelines on the diagnosis and drug management of Parkinson's disease. The bases for diagnosis of the disease are enumerated including the presence of a specific set of clinical features. A hospital physician with expertise in movement disorders should diagnose the disease. Major non-motor symptoms of the disease include depression and insomnia. The article also discusses diagnostic tools, genetic testing, and drug management. |
