A Sipunculan Worm, Therniste (Lagen opsis) lagen iformis (Baird, 1868) (Golfingiiformes: Themistidae) New to Pakistani Waters.

Abstrakt: The article focuses on the first Sipunculan worm, Themiste (Lagenopsis) lagenformis that has been recorded in the Northern Arabian Sea in Pakistan. It says that Sipunculans has two classes, the Phascolosomatidea and Sipunculidea and the Phascolosomatoformes and Aspidosiphoniformes, each having a single family, the Phascolosomatidae and Aspisiphonidae. It states that the first Sipunculan worm recorded from the shore of Pakistan was reported as Golfingia, which belongs to the family Themistidae of order Golfingiiformes, however, the first case of the species from the genus Themiste (L.) lageniformis, which is known in Indian Ocean, is also being recorded for the first time. It says that the species has a balloon shaped and pointed posterior as well as a smooth and opaque body.
