The article offers suggestions from first-generation college graduate Patricia Telles-Irvin on how school administrators and students can start first-generation scholarships in their institutions in the U.S. She advises that students need to gain the support of the campus president and legislators. She also suggests that institutions should make fundraising for the scholarship program a priority. She also mentions that a promotional campaign should be created to generate donations. |
