Cysticercosis, although common in developing nations, is an uncommon cause of a breast lump. This article reports a case from India, where a young woman presented with a firm, nontender breast lump. Breast sonography imaging with a high-frequency transducer revealed a well-defined cystic lesion with an internal echogenic nodule and surrounding hypoechoic area. Subsequently, fine-needle aspiration cytology was performed, which confirmed the diagnosis of cysticercosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
