The article discusses a study on the potential of reduced pulmonary function as a late effect from cisplatin-based chemotherapy in testicular cancer survivors. Researchers from the University of Tromsø concentrated on the pulmonary function of long-term survivors of testicular cancer evaluated by outpatient spirometry, clinical examination, and a questionnaire. The study shows the ability of testicular cancer patients who received larger doses of cisplatin-based chemotherapy to decrease pulmonary function compared to those who were treated with surgery only. |
