Abstrakt: The article describes the provisions and implementation of the 1999 Montreal Convention (MC99) which was aimed at standardizing liability rules for air passengers, cargo and baggage. MC99 has 91 signatories compared to 152 of the 1929 Warsaw convention and 137 of the 1955 Hague Protocol but has already achieved the goals on liability limits and preservation of the Warsaw Convention jurisprudence. The author provides information on liabilities and cites cases in countries such as Spain, Italy, Great Britain and the U.S.
