Abstrakt: The article presents the results from a multidisciplinary investigation conducted by the Indiana State Department of Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention into the reported cases of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (IGM) in multigravid Hispanic women from 2006 to 2008. Particular focus is given on the etiology of the breast masses and the associated epidemiologic and clinical features. Other topics discussed include the prevalence of IGM in Indianapolis and the possible risk factors for disease.
