Abstrakt: Apart from various well renowned values, the dynamically growing professional sport brings various threats to health, resulting from the use of prohibited drugs and other means of pharmacological aid. Various anti doping commissions attempt to counteract against doping in international as well as domestic sport. Based on anti doping laboratories commissions attempt to disqualify those sports people who use doping. On the other hand, the pressure exerted on them to achieve results - often related to financial, social or political concerns - results in a sort of a race between doping cheats and anti doping testing as far as various prohibited drugs are concerned. Recently there has been a lot of talk about not just hormonal stimulation of sports people's organisms, but also... genetic doping. The threat of technological destruction of the idea of "fair play" through doping, seems to be quite real according to various analysis presented in the specialist literature, and only strong action undertaken by all sporting organisations, including the IOM, as well as preventive education, might succeed in stopping these doping trends.
